In a small Jewish ceremony, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte got married on January 5, 2015. However, neither Benji or Cameron is of the Jewish faith. Both spent the next several years together tending to their careers on separate projects. The couple became parents on December 30, 2019, to a beautiful baby girl, Raddix Chloe Wildflower, at Cedar Sinia Hospital.
From Famed Life To New Mom
Cameron Diaz, after famed life and retirement, became a mom for the first time last December. She remembers her frugal upbringing in Long Beach, California. There, Cameron attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School with such famous people as Snoop Dog and Billie Jean King. From the age of 16 on her life has been a whirlwind of modeling gigs, movie contracts, book deals, and activism. But no role ever prepared Cameron to be a new mom and contending with a global pandemic.
Becoming A New Mom In The Coronavirus Age
Raddix, born last December, was announced to the world on January 5, 2020, just around the same time the discovery of the first case of COVID-19 in the US occurred. Even though Raddix is just a baby now, she will only know life post-COVID-19 pandemic.
Cameron claims life has been quiet for the little family, and they’ve even got a routine down with the baby. She explains during friend’s, Katherine Powers, Instagram Live chat that three-month-old daughter Raddix is the best part of her life.
Bonding As A Family In Quarantine
Cameron explains that she is thrilled to spend so much time right now with Benji and Raddix. She feels like she was already in quarantine when this whole pandemic started. The big difference was they could have friends over before mandatory isolation. Now, the couple sees no one, which Cameron compares to a bubble. She suggests it’s so crazy not going out, but at the same time, it’s an opportunity to bond as a family.
Routine Is Important
Benji seems to be everything in Raddix’s father Cameron could ever want. Enjoying the perks of fatherhood, he gets to be an immersive new dad during the lockdown. Since the couple’s new arrival, they try to adhere to a routine. Now, as the pandemic gripped the nation, that stability became even more significant.
As Benji puts Raddix down at night, Cameron pours herself a glass of red wine, commences cooking dinner, and watches her favorite shows. Cameron is a self-professed chef and describes that it’s their time to wind down, a luxury hardly experienced by the couple during their very active careers.
Cameron’s life had slowed down even before she gave birth to Raddix. In an interview, she professed she was stepping back from her career and not seeking to start any new projects, nor does she have any in the works.
Fans deduced that she had retired. Cameron believes after giving almost half her life to the public, it was time to think about herself and start a family. It’s not sure if she will eventually return to her career.
