Recently, a kitten was taken to an animal shelter in need of emergency care. A group of volunteers were then determined to do everything in their power to not only save the kitten’s life, but to turn it upside down, for the better.
The 7-week old kitten was delivered to an animal shelter in Montreal, Canada. The kitten had been left alone somewhere. It looked incredibly skinny and had a lot of trouble breathing. The little cat suffered from a severe respiratory infection and had a hard time standing on its own four feet.
Because of the small budget with which the shelter operated, they were not able to keep the kitten there. However, many volunteers had fallen in love with the kitten in its short stay there and offered to take care of him, until he was completely recovered.
A local group, called the Chatons Orphelins Montreal, made sure the kitten could be rescued. One of the volunteers quickly brought the kitten to the local group. The people there called the kitten Murphy, and the young cat immediately got all the grooming it needed.
Because the kitten was still very young, he quickly got used to his new environment. This was very favorable because he was playful and not shy at all. He only wanted to have fun and run around!
Over the next few days, the kitten was getting better and better. His eyes started to look healthier and his breathing improved, as well. Although they found out that the kitten might be partially deaf, it didn’t make him less playful.
Murphy was treated for lice and received a good haircut. After a rough start, the kitten could finally relax and enjoy the life he so deserved. He gained weight very quickly and has since grown a lot, in a short period of time. Now that Murphy is all patched up, he looks great, and because of the extra toes, a lot of people find him extra cute. Thanks to the volunteers, the future for Murphy looks good again!
